Points Of Intrest:Below are some places to harvest. It is incomplete as i have not added in any of the newer areas I have found for the t3 and t4 resorces. I hoep to get to that soon, and add them in. I have a fairly large list already. So here is the start for now.If you have a file:Just copy the poi's below, open your CustomPoiNames file inside the Bin folder.Paist these entries on the bottom of you current poi list.SaveIf you do Below are some places to harvest. It is incomplete as i have not added in any of the newer areas I have found for the t3 and t4 resorces. I hoep to get to that soon, and add them in. I have a fairly large list already. So here is the start for now.

If you have a  file:

  1. Just copy the poi's below, open your CustomPoiNames file inside the Bin folder.
  2. Paist these entries on the bottom of you current poi list.
  3. Save

If you do not have a cutsom Poi file

  1. Open up note pad
  2. copy the list below
  3. Paist the list into word pad
  4. Save as CustomPoINames in your bin folder.

You can check to see if you have this file by following this path: C:\Program Files\Sony\Vanguard\bin
The file name will be a "Text Document" named CustomPoINames

Very interested in this development and how to progress with it should be formalised before the project gets too big to handle .

What I would like to see is the use of diffrent symbols for the resources eg a triangle for stone , a square with a cross in for metals and so on , The colour of these symbols could represent the tiers of the material so for eg a red triangle and a red crossed square would indicate tier 1 stone and metal respectively .

At the moment the file is small enough to be globally modified , what may need some work would be the POI program to implement an idea as suggested

It would be nice, but right now all we are able to do it have four ranks to the poi's. and four (inlcuding the quest marker) graphics for the the dots.. also includes group members and then the ones you see normaly. So that would leave only three that you can actualy use. We have those on some of the mods that we have done. I did some green and blue squares, and Parmon and others did some wtih bright green and white dots.

we are limited in what we can do by the xml provided. And though at times we wish we could do more, it is a good thing. Keeping a good  amount of the scripts server side helps keep down the cheaters and 3rd party programs. There are still some out there, but with the limited amount of modding abilities (keeping it to just the ui graphics and placement) realy helps keep them out.

At the moment however, I do have the harvesting marked in green, where as the rest of the poi's (locations of cities and the likes) are in white. I am goig to work at making agressive mobs and npc's (normaly agressive that is, not faction related) in red, main cities in gold and other places in white. We can change the fonts, and i can change ONE of the markers if you like. Yet that is the limite. And I am not sure if we would need one of those markers later on in game. Cannot hurt to try though eh?

I will spread the word though and see what others think. Perhaps we can add in another graphic for harvesting (one across the board) and assign that a place in the xml. Of course, there is still the rank issue that all poi's are given. So might have to go around that somehow.
