If you have issues with the overlapping text, blacked out UI elements, etc and so forth like the photo below - - -Quote:Gebron Says - Guys, in a spirit of "some information is better than none" I'm just jumping in and saying we ARE aware of the problem, but do not have any systems that are reproducing it.I've got people scrambling to get the cards mentioned here and drivers, and I'm contacting nVidia for assistance as well.Consider this bullet in the chamber. Please continue to help with any driver-related data that may narrow this down.I've compiled some known workarounds and cards known to be affected below.Workaround #1 - Driver rollback - For the nVidia 6000 series, some people have had success with the 84.21 drivers. Windows Media Center users may have a much more difficult time with this, however I was able to use the Windows XP version of the 84.21 drivers on MC Edition without TOO much hassle - I got poor performance elsewhere so I removed them and went back to the latest MC edition forceware drivers.Workaround #2 - Temporary fix - "I did find that alt-tabbing resolves it, until the next time it is updated." Some success has also been had with the /flush command. These are temporary fixes and only clears the issue for a few moments. It quickly returns.Workaround #3 - Disable Stencil Buffers - Go into your Vanguard folder (default is C:\Program Files\Sony\Vanguard\) and locate the folder labeled "bin", inside this folder is a file named "vgclient.ini", open this file and locate two entries labeled "UseStencil=True" and set the "True" setting to "False.". Some users have reported having success only changing the first usestencil line. I'm unsure if disabling only the first one has any different effect on the game. I have both disabled.Quote:Gebron Says - Also, we DO use the stencil buffer for some special effects in game. I'm fine with you turning it off (Hey, I'm Mr. Options!) but know that you may see weird artifacts like rain or snow inside buildings.I can confirm rain/snow inside of buildings when the stencil buffer is off, but it's a minor trade off for actually being able to play the game.I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue, given that when I temporarily rolled back to the 84.21 drivers from 93.71, the problem was gone. However, for a great many users, rolling back drivers isn't really acceptable. The performance drop and issues experienced in other games led me to updating my drivers back to 93.71 and going with workaround #3. Another thing reinforcing my thoughts on it being 100% driver related is the sheer variety of nVidia cards affected. Not to mention the fact that ATI thus far seems unaffected.Known cards affected by this bug -GeForce 6100 Series (6100, 6150, 6150 LE)GeForce 6200 Series (TC, OC)GeForce 6600 Series (GT)GeForce 7300 Series (GS)GeForce 7500 Series (LE)GeForce 8800 Series (GTX)Hope this helps someone. I'll compile more information on it as I see it./ message attachments
