Here is a wonderfull page i found, and i think it works. Check out what they had to say, then click onAd Banner Removalat the bottom of the page to go directly to this guys site. Its great, and might solve our problem of the voice chat cuting in and out on us while playing D or any other games.Ad Banner RemovalIt seems you can't do anything on the net these days without adverts jumping up and demanding your attention. Since Yahoo is mostly sponsored by adverts it's no surprise that Messenger has them all over the place. There's one in particular that causes the most annoyance - the one that sits at the bottom of the chat window. Sometimes it will increase in size and take up a good part of the window - hiding most of what is being said in the chat room - especially for people using the 800x600 screen resolution. Other times it can be clicked accidentally causing an annoying pop-up to activate. The ad banner ( and all other Messenger ads ) are really mini webpages contained within Messenger's windows. What we can do is make Messenger load in an alternative smaller page in the chat window. We do this by putting an entry into the Windows Registry. The Windows Registry..
The Windows Registry is a database of information used by the Windows operating system and any programs you have installed on your computer. Messenger has its own section in the registry for storing user settings and preferences. To get rid of the ad banner we can add information to Messenger's part of the registry so as Messenger uses a different mini webpage for the banner. I have made a mini webpage to replace the ad banner on the chat window - it replaces the banner with the words "Ad Disabled". To activate it click on the following link and save the file on your PC..>>Yahoo No Chat Ad Registry File<< Messenger should NOT be running when you do the next step.. Find the file you have just downloaded and double-click on it. Windows will ask you something like this.. [ Are you sure you want to add the information in yahoo_nochatad.REG to the registry? ] Click [YES] Windows should say something like.. [ Information in yahoo_nochatad.REG has been successfully entered into the registry. ] Click [OK] Now fire up Messenger and go to a chat room. If you were successful the ad at the bottom of the window should be replaced by the message "Ad Disabled". Registry Warning..
I do not recommend you edit the registry directly unless you have experience of it and know exactly what you are doing. If you've never seen the registry editor or have never heard of it then best to leave it well alone - just one wrong edit can make your PC freeze or not even boot at all. The Yahoo_nochatad registry file only adds one piece of info to Messenger's part of the registry - it does not delete or alter any other info. Many more ads in Messenger can be removed this way but I've only mentioned the chat window banner as it often takes away the fun of Messenger. If all ads were removed then Yahoo may consider charging fees for the Messenger service to make up for the lack of ad-clicks.Ad Banner Removal
