Tempted to call it quits... Been working hard and keeping up a website and forum for a long time. Well over 7 years now. Trying to get it up and going and so that it was easy for everyone to get around and find their way. from game to game, expansion to expansion and so on.... But right now, im not sure if i want to keep it going or not.I spend about $215 a year on the site, forum, hosting and domain name. And if people used it it would be fine. But as of late no one has been using the forum, posting or anything. In fact, many do not notice when i update or dont update it. Granted, there are a few exceptions i know, i am not discounting you. However, in general.. its not being used.There are other things as well. I was asked again this morning why I do all the things I do for others. As she said"I thought i once mention or ask why you always doing, getting things for others and never yourself, and you say you dont matter" Well the answer is easy. I enjoy seeing people work together, getting things they want and need, being there when i can.. even if i see two groups of people out doing something having fun and I am farming.. I am happy. Its about community and family and friendships. Call me mushy if you like, but that is my answer to that question I was asked. I do get something out of it.But when i see things in game, or here on the forum, and no one is partisipating.. or I am told by another that"to me if the alliance went down or the guild broke up wouldnt make a difference to me" it makes it hard. Expeicaly when I considered them a real friend, something I dont have many of, but cherrish each of those I do.So, with the way things have been going, and me not seeming to be able to do much of anything to help out the situation.. I am near giving up. I know I do feel like this at times. I am not playing poor me or crying about spilled milk, but I am a little sad. But thats life, get over it and move on right? I dont know.. we shall just have to see from here what happens. Not even sure who will read this to tell the truth, but we shall see eh?Peace, Sarrene'

sara i understand what you are saying. there really is only a few of us who use this so i understand if you want to quit or not have this anymore. i mean i will miss it because im one of the few who use it! LOL but i really do understand. we cant make ppl come and post and look at the site.. even tho we do try hehe. *sighs* all we can do is hope that either more come on to the forum or like you said maybe it is time for the site to be taken done. cause you dont know what you got till its gone.. maybe then the ppl who dont come here with appreciate it! <hugas sara>

i can understand your frustration and will not attempt to sway your decision either direction. honestly i cannot place much weight behind my opinions. i have really only been apart of this alliance on aregular basis for a short time. i blame my game a.d.d. for that. i do however appreciate all effort ye have put into the game, the forum and everything else that goes into it. i have never been a big forum poster person type. however i have always visited forums for info and news and to just see what folks have been up to.
i know you are a tad frustrated with not just the forum but game play at times as well. your frustrations were easy to pick up on today during the ml. and i can understand that. the problems you had today are one of the main reasons i dont do ml raids and such. sometimes people forget it is a game and supposed to be entertainment. sometimes people just get stupid, greedy, and selfish. sad as it may be but it has become apart of the game, or any game for that matter, that i just try to ignore and continue to have fun.
whether you decide to continue the forum or not, i will support ye 100% i am certain i would be as frustrated if not more if it was i doing the upkeep and people not using. luckily for me i am far to stupid to even attempt a venture this involved....and most importantly well done i must add.

See that lil guy up there? The yellow triangle thing with bad things spewing from his mouth? Is that kind of the way you feel???? Well, stop it lady. Whatever makes you feel that way, stop it NOW. We love you, and everything you do for us (flowers and songs, MY FAVORITE).

So, if doing all this stuff makes you feel like that mean lil - I don't know what he is really - then don't do it. Just keep your happy lil self chained to the forge, only coming out to give away flowers and dye other people's armor (don't worry, I won't tell on you).

Now, if doing all this stuff makes you feel like
"YIPEEE!!!!!!! WHOO HOO!!!!!!!! HOT DOG!!!!!!!!!!!" then do it.
Makes sense right?

aww, thank you... err.. you realy dont mind the singing and such? i was told a week or so ago that it was annoying.. that was why i stopped.

Na, I like having fun.. and being chained to the forge... i can handle that once a week. I dont know...

Over all, its more because i see people out there, but no one is talking to another, no one seems to be having fun and enjoying themselves. This is a game, a place to get together and have fun and relax. Tease and joke around. That kind of thing. But that seems to be lacking. Not because no one is on. I am speeking of the times that people are on. Then when i hear that it would not matter to someone if the guild or alliance were to fall.. that realy saddened me.

I am just not sure what to do at this time. I dont want to be boss, i dont want to be the leader.. or at least the only one. I do want to help out when i can, i do want to see people having fun and doing things together and the likes. No raids, no fun, no roleplay events, no one attending things that are posted, offered or planned. Even the last meeting.. there almost a full page up.. and only one person showed or responded in alliance. (mind you.. when i say no one, i am only generalizing, not being litteral.. most of the time)

But when you couple that comment (that person was being honest, and i do appreciate that.. so dont get to upset) with not being able to get a group for the ml even from alliance members when they had room.. that realy hurt. I did give up on it, i was too sad/frustrated to want to stay and try.

If anyone has any ideas of what i can do, let me know.. or what i can NOT do any more.. let me know. I am always open to anyones ideas.

The singing can be fun see who is the quickest at getting the next line out. debating about who is singing it wrong or just music trivia takes the monotany out of crafting or just waiting for something to happen

You know sara that no matter what anyone says or thinks you can believe that we all appreciate the time and effort that you put into everything to do with DAOC, the web site is always maintained the rents are always payed the crafting is done, and a lot of the time people take it for granted that it gets done without thinking of the time it takes to get it done. I just want to say a big thankyou (yes its been awhile) but i for one appreciate the effort that you make. Dont call it quits PLEASE DONT
